Local Review Board
I would like to welcome you to the Rodillian Academy and its Local Review Board (“LRB”). It is a 11-18 secondary and sixth form academy which is rated Good by Ofsted.
The LRB is formed from co-opted members who have skills which aids the Governance of the Academy, Parents, and members of staff. The purpose of the LRB is to provide oversight, challenge and support of the Academy including reviewing the Academy’s progress against its improvement plan, student attainment and how it engages with students, parents, staff, and the wider community.
The LRB formally meets at least 6 times in the academic year and considers Academy standards, the quality of provision, admissions and exclusions, financial and premises management of the Academy including Health & Safety and the use of ICT.
As part of evaluating the academic provision provided, the LRB considers academy targets and performance, leadership and outcome and the Academy’s Curriculum.
In addition to its formal meetings, LRB members come into the Academy and speak with staff and students about their perception of the Academy, meet with Ofsted when they come into the Academy and sit on exclusion and complaints panels.

Sarah Fawcett
Sarah Fawcett is the Chair of the Local Review Board and a Director of RS PLC. She specialises in business transformation, operations and process improvement. She lives locally to Robin Hood, with both children attending Robin Hood Primary. She's passionate about giving back to the local community and is also Director and Trustee of Wakefield Hospice.
Sam Butterworth
Sam is a Chartered Marketer, specialising in Strategy, Brand and Development. He holds the position of Fractional CMO for several companies, encompassing roles in education, technology, law, consumer finance, construction, private equity and the third sector. In his spare time, Sam is involved in professional mentoring and school governance. He is a registered mentor with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Trustee of Wakefield Grammar School Foundation.
Kirsty Bailey
As a Senior Project Manager at the National Literacy Trust, Kirsty leads initiatives focused on improving literacy for students who are excluded or who are at risk of exclusion, with a core focus on inclusion and promoting oracy and reading for pleasure. Kirsty brings expertise in project delivery and strategic planning, alongside a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable students. She is extremely passionate about ensuring equitable access to education and empowering all students to achieve their full potential.
Olabisi Oladimeji
Olabisi is a member of the Local Review Board. She is a dedicated professional in data governance and strategy development, with a passion for ensuring ethical and effective data management practices. She lives in Leeds with her family and is committed to meaningful involvement in her community through service as a school governor.
